You are a photographer turned triathlete? explain?
Ya I had been working in Photography for about 6 years, all through out Art college, I was I have a degree in fine art print from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. I decided that when I finished my degree, photography was a job that paid, So I started working more and more with the camera and moved away from print, photography is something I love and it was something I could make a living from and be creative, Rather than trying to exist solely as an artist, Art is not the easiest way of life. I had a great tutor in college who really allowed us do what we wanted when it came to working in the creative process.
When I left college I just used the camera as a tool to make money, so I ended up shooting everything from weddings, concerts, PR stuff that’s how you have to work sometimes here in Ireland, say yes to everything. I eventually started working for an agency shooting for some of the Irish papers, news and sports stuff mainly.
It was great fun, to be out on the road going from story to story. During this time I also got to see a lot of the country that I had not been to, it began to get me interested in the art side of work that I had dropped for a while, Soon I got board of the news work and was more interested in the my documentary work, I wanted to travel again for a bit so I quite my job and headed off to Australia. It was out there that I first started in Triathlons in Sydney last September of last year
What do you think about triathlon team first time you encountered it?
I though who are these guys, do they actually race as a team? who does those great logos, how can I get on this website. What sort of logo would I have? How cool is aleksandar sørensen logo, I liked the concept a lot. That’s what I was thinking when I first came across the site.
You had four articles on tri team websites on 10th September 2009? Did you feel famous?
I felt really famous after my big day on September 10th on triathlon team. My hand was actually quite sore from signing autographs since September 11th. It’s kinda of all Gavin Noble’s fault that I have ended up there, I had my website but had not push it out there for the world to see, it was just floating out there in cyber space with no direction and once again this season it took another selfless act by Gavin to help me and boom I was up and running. He started this for me.
Will Clark and Crazy Frassie then followed and help out putting me on there websites and highlighting what I have been up to. So if we can blame Gavin Noble for creating the monster that is bryankeane.com/triathlete
The video below is the first one I ever made, its of me running up the sydney tower with the camera while racing, I would like to be able to race a lot more with the camera, but some time you got to concentrate on the race!!!
The link below is a video I made when I worked in a bike shop in sydney, its was the most fun place I ever worked, It was a job that I would have never got to do if I had not moved to Australia
