clare adomeit interview May 31st, 2009 by Nikola

Will’s website might be more precise if it were will-n-clare.com…
How did you meet Mr. Clarke?
I first met Will at Cottenham Village College, our secondary school just outside Cambridge. From the very moment we met at the tender age of 12, I knew we were going to become great friends. The next 5 years were spent as close friends, and it wasn’t until our leavers ball that he finally plucked up the courage to ask me on a date. I was unsure to begin with, as I liked him only as a friend, but after a couple of days, I thought - why not!! Our 8 year long relationship started there and I have never looked back…

You quit work to support Mr. Clarke - how is it to be a supporter? Training, races, travelling, etc?
I have always supported Will 110%, as being a professional triathlete is so much more than training and racing. If you want to succeed you need to be 110% comitted to your 24/7 job, and so the support you get also becomes crucial. Giving up work will allow me to support Will even more, and ensure that he only has to think about what he is doing, and not the boring things like housework & cooking! I have always travelled with Will to as many races as possible, and have always thoroughly enjoyed the circuit. We have many really good friends on the circuit, who make it feel like we are part of one big family. I can’t wait to catch up with some of them at the Washington Super Series World Cup on the 21st June and then Des Moines the following week on the 28th June.
Next step?
The next step is to ensure that Will’s 2009 season continues as well as it has started, by supporting him unconditionally throughout and keeping home life as normal as possible. We have lots to look forward to including our wedding sometime next year, and I can’t wait to start planning once we have some even better results to add to the wedding fund!
